These terms and conditions apply to your use of all of the Narrative Muse Products, features, technologies and software.

Our services:

Our mission is to connect book, movie, and TV lovers with fantastic content by or about women and gender diverse people. We aim to transform the entertainment landscape into one that is more gender diverse.

We personalize your experience:

In order for us to recommend great books, movies, and TV series that are just-for-you perfect, we need to personalize your experience. Your experience with our matchmaker and the matches you get are unique to you. In order for us to create personalized experiences for our users, we collect and store the information you provide to us.

We use your answers to both provide recommendations, reviews, sponsored content and curated content that is just for you.

Additionally, we are always working to improve our products. In order to do this, we analyze user data to better understand how people use our products and how we can provide a better experience.

In using our products, you are agreeing to the use of your data for our services.

We protect our community:

Your safety is very important to us. If we detect the misuse or harmful conduct of our Products, we will take appropriate action by ensuring that your personal information is safe, disabling necessary accounts, and/or contacting law enforcement. Learn more about our Security Policy.

In order to provide a global service, we store our information in data centers that may be outside of your country of residence. We take great care to ensure that our service providers participate in full data protection.

We might be in touch:

We may use the information you provide to send you reminders about your recommendations, updates about our Products and services, marketing communications, and to let you know about any updates to our Terms and Conditions and Security Policy. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.
 

Our security policy:

In order to provide our services, we collect and retain the information and data that you give us. We only share anonymized, aggregated information with authorized partners. We will never share your name or contact information. To learn more about our practices, have a read of our Security Policy.

Should you want to end this agreement at any time, you may do so by going to My Profile, Security, and then Delete account. Your personal information including your name, email address, and social media account connections will be deleted. We will be unable to retrieve your matches and recommendations again, should you want them.
 

Your agreement:

When using our Products, you agree to:

  • Not share your password or give access to your Narrative Muse account to others.

  • Not copy, reprint, reuse or repurpose any of our content and all of our subsidiary Products without written permission.

  • Not create a new account if we've previously disabled your account for breaches of our Terms and Conditions.

  • Not do anything with our Products that is unlawful, discriminatory or fraudulent.

  • Not partake in any activity that breaches someone else’s rights.

  • Not do anything that could disable, overburden or impair the working or appearance of our Products, including uploading viruses or malicious code.

  • Not attempt to access data that you don't have permission to access.

  • Not try to access or collect data from our Products using bots or other automated means.

  • Notify Narrative Muse immediately of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

By providing your name and email address to Narrative Muse, you consent to our using the email address in accordance with our Security Policy.

Should we determine that your activity is in breach of Your Agreement and we are concerned for the safety of our community or services, we have the right to terminate or suspend your account. Should we determine that your activity is unlawful, we may also terminate or suspend your account.

You give us permission for the following when using our Products:

  • Use your name and email when contacting you directly.

  • Use your name when displaying sponsored content or ads across our Products.

  • Install upgrades, updates and additional features to improve, enhance and further develop our Products.
     

Our Intellectual Property:

We retain the right to all intellectual property for all of our Products. This includes our logos, text, images, graphics, videos, music, source code, software, patents, trademarks, service marks, copyrights, or other intellectual property. You must obtain our written permission to modify, create derivative works of, decompile or otherwise attempt to extract source code from our Products.
 

Third-Party Websites, Advertisers or Services:

Our Products may contain links to third-party websites, advertisers, or services that are not owned or controlled us. We don’t assume any responsibility for these services. If you access these sites from our Products, understand that our own Terms do not apply.

Also be aware that the Terms of your participation in promotions of advertisers found on Narrative Muse are solely between you and such advertisers. You agree that Narrative Muse is not responsible for any loss or damage related to your dealings with such advertisers.

We strongly suggest that you read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of any third-party website or service that you visit.
 

Changes to our Terms:

On occasion, we will review our Terms and Conditions and may need to update them. When we do, we will contact you by email with these changes. By continuing to use our Products, you agree to the changes in these Terms and Conditions.

Should you want to terminate your agreement with us, you may delete your account at any time.
 

Limits on Liability:

We do everything that we can to provide the best practices for your safety and provide clear guidelines for all users.

Our Products, however, are provided "as is", and we make no guarantees that they will always be safe, secure or error-free, or that they will function without disruptions, delays or imperfections. To the extent permitted by law, we also DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We are not responsible for others actions or conduct (whether online or offline).

We cannot predict when issues may arise with our Products. Accordingly, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and under no circumstances will we be liable to you for any lost profits, revenues, information or data, or consequential, special, indirect, exemplary, punitive or incidental damages arising out of or related to these Terms or the Narrative Muse Products, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
 

If you have a dispute:

We try to provide clear rules about the use of our Products so that we can avoid disputes where possible.

However should there be a dispute, all laws in which you reside will be applied to any claim, cause of action, or dispute that you have against us, which arises out of or relates to these Terms and Conditions or the Narrative Muse Products ("claim"), and you may resolve your claim in any competent court in that country that has jurisdiction over the claim. In all other cases, you agree that the claim must be resolved exclusively in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, for the purpose of litigating any such claim, and that the laws of New Zealand will govern these Terms and Conditions and any claim, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
 

Additional Terms:

Some of our Products are governed by Additional Terms. If you use any of these Products these Terms and Conditions will be provided to you. Examples of such Products are Products used by business partners for commercial purposes. For example, if you are a business partner and use our Products for the purposes of curating your commercial content, sponsoring ads, or partaking in market data and analysis, you are subject to our Commercial Terms and Conditions. Should there be a conflict between our general Terms and Conditions and our Commercial Terms and Conditions, the additional terms shall govern the extent of the conflict.

If any portion of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining portion will remain in full force and effect. If we fail to enforce any of these Terms, it will not be considered a waiver. Any amendment to or waiver of these Terms must be made in writing and signed by us.

You will not transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms to anyone else without our consent.

These Terms do not confer any third-party beneficiary rights. All of our rights and obligations under these Terms are freely assignable by us in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or by operation of law or otherwise.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
